What Mother Deuce is
An educational tool for adults, for practising words, reflecting on a hard moment, and planning a repair. It offers suggestions you can adapt, ignore, or disagree with. You know your child and your situation; this does not.
Not legal advice
Nothing here is legal advice, and using Mother Deuce does not create a lawyer-client relationship with anyone. Do not rely on it for decisions about custody, parenting time, protective orders, family court, or any other legal matter. Suggested wording is not drafted for use as evidence or as a filing. If you are dealing with a legal question, talk to a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction, because the answer genuinely depends on where you live and on facts this tool does not have.
Not medical, psychological, or clinical advice
Mother Deuce does not provide medical, psychiatric, psychological, or mental health treatment. It is not therapy and not counselling, it does not diagnose or screen for any condition in you or your child, and it cannot tell you whether a behaviour is developmentally typical. Never delay seeking professional advice, and never disregard advice you have already been given, because of something you read here. If you are worried about your own or your child's health or safety, speak to a qualified professional.
Not an emergency service
Nobody is monitoring what you write. There is no person on the other side of this, and nothing you type reaches emergency services, a crisis counsellor, or a mandated reporter. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. The crisis lines at the bottom of every screen reach real people who answer.
Responses are generated by AI
Suggestions come from a language model. It can be wrong, it can be confidently wrong, and it can produce advice that is unsuitable for your particular child, your family, or your circumstances. It does not remember your situation the way a person would, and it does not understand you. Read anything it produces before you use it, and change or discard whatever does not fit. What you say and do with your child remains your decision and your responsibility.
The guides are unreviewed drafts
No qualified professional has reviewed any guide on this site. They are written from general parenting guidance, they are marked as drafts, and they are excluded from search results while they stay that way. Treat them as a starting point for your own thinking, not as settled advice.
Nothing here is confidential or privileged
What you write to Mother Deuce is not a privileged communication. It does not carry the legal protection that a conversation with your attorney, doctor, or licensed therapist does, and it could in principle be requested in a legal proceeding. If you are documenting something for a custody or court matter, do that with your attorney, not here.
United States only
Every crisis number and resource offered here is for the United States. Mother Deuce does not know where you are and will not offer a local number for anywhere else. If you are outside the US, please find the emergency and crisis services for your own country before you need them.
For adults
Mother Deuce is written for adults caring for children. It is not designed for children, not directed at them, and not appropriate for a child to use on their own.
If you need help right now
Call 911 if someone is in immediate danger. The crisis lines at the bottom of every screen reach people who answer, and you do not have to explain yourself to use them.
